PROJECT OVERVIEW

Today, the Senator Nat G. Kiefer University of New Orleans Lakefront Arena is synonymous with entertainment, athletics, and collegiate life on the university’s campus. This 10,000-seat multi-purpose facility includes intimate concert-style seating, an aquatic center with an indoor Olympic-sized swimming pool, a primary basketball court and auxiliary practice courts, gym facilities, and office space. As Design Team Job Captain for the original design of this structure, Knox H. Tumlin played an integral role in the creation of this landmark building. Since its official opening in the fall of 1983, the arena has hosted hundreds of musical acts, performances, festivals, and professional sporting events.
